Allwag Announces B Corp Certification!

10/01/2024 15:00:23

Back in October, we proudly announced that Allwag Promotions had achieved B Corporation (B Corp) Certification, joining a growing group of reinventing businesses by pursuing purpose as well as profit!

This significant milestone reflects our commitment to meeting B Lab’s high standards that address the areas of Governance, Workers, Community, Environment and Customers. We are ensuring complete transparency in showcasing our sustainability efforts through our public B Corp profile.  Joining a global community of 7,000 certified B Corps, we stand among businesses committed to making a positive impact.

Surprisingly, 34% of respondents in a recent LinkedIn poll expressed unfamiliarity with the concept of the B Corp Certification and we are dedicated to helping more organisations understand the benefits.

Obtaining B Corp Certification signifies that our business upholds stringent standards of proven performance, responsibility, and openness in all areas of sustainability, encompassing social, economic, and environmental aspects*. To earn this certification, we've had to:

  • Demonstrate high social and environmental performance by achieving a B Impact Assessment score of 80 or above and passing a risk review.
  • Make a legal commitment by changing our corporate governance structure to be accountable to all stakeholders, not just shareholders.
  • Exhibit transparency by allowing information about our performance measured against B Lab’s standards to be publicly available on our B Corp profile on B Lab’s website.

As a B Corp Certified business, we understand the importance of collaboration with other B Corp companies. Together, we aim to transform the global economy, create standards that shift behaviours, and strive until all businesses become a force for good.

Our B Corp assessment score of 92.9, covering governance (looking after stakeholders), employees (team wellbeing), community (contributing positively), environment (taking care of the planet), and customer satisfaction (positive impact), is a testament to our sustainable practices. We're on a mission to enhance our rating further through ongoing eco-friendly initiatives, like offsetting our carbon footprint, promoting employee wellbeing, and using green, renewable energy sources.

As we approach our 25th anniversary, our B Corp Certification enables us to continue our ongoing sustainability efforts.

Allwag Director, Angela Wagstaff, comments, “Our B Corp certification empowers us to further our commitment to sustainability and build trust with both our supply chain partners and valued customers. We're excited to have our stakeholders join us on this remarkable B Corp journey.”

Chris Turner, Executive Director of B Lab UK, says” We are delighted to welcome Allwag Promotions to the B Corp community. This is a movement of companies who are committed to changing how business operates and believe business really can be a force for good. We know that Allwag are going to be a fantastic addition to the community and will continue to drive conversation forward”.

As we advance on our sustainability journey, we remain dedicated to deepening our understanding of our planet and our impact on it as a company and as individuals. In line with this commitment, we aim to offer educational insights on the benefits and impact of being a B Corp Certified business.

Stay tuned for upcoming webinars and content designed to educate you about our B Corp status.
